Characteristics of the brewery

The Daina brand sake brewery is Kikunosato Sake Brewery Co., Ltd. (official website: https://kikunosato-sake.com/ Instagram: kikunosato_shuzo) located in Otawara City, Tochigi Prefecture. The brewery has been in operation since the end of the Edo period, and the current eighth-generation head brewer, Mr. Makoto Akutsu, is in charge of sake brewing as the chief brewer.

Nasunohara, which includes Otawara City, is a land rich in nature, blessed with high-quality water and sake rice. The brewery aims to make "fun sake, sake that makes you happy" in this area. They are particular about local sake, and about 95% of the rice they use is grown by local contract farmers with reduced use of pesticides.

Based on the principle that "sake brewing starts with rice cultivation," we are proud of the history and tradition of our brewery and are constantly challenging ourselves with new things.

Review of Daina Junmai Ginjo "Nasu Gohyakumangoku"

"When opened, the aroma is mild and not very noticeable. When poured into a glass, it seems to have a slight color. When you put it in your mouth, the deliciousness of the rice comes along with a gentle sweetness. There is a slight bitterness in the aftertaste, which is delicious. I had it chilled, but since it is not a rich flavor, it is easy to drink and goes down smoothly." (Moman/30s)

"When I think of Daina, I think of this sake. It is made using Gohyakumangoku rice from Tochigi Prefecture. It would go well with any dish. It's a great sake to have with a meal."(Man/50s)
